Busy training!! - April 28, 2013

Hey family!!

I have a second chance to write super fast!! I am in Málaga right now with most of the sister trainers that will be training the 19 newbies!!! It is a mad house here and so much fun. I freaking love the sisters in our mission...heck I love of our missionaries!!! Best mission in the woooorld. I am super stoked and scared out of my mind to train haha. They are ALL from America and mostly from Utah and Wyomming and Idaho. Woot! It's funny because all of the new sisters' pictures look so familiar!! I swear I have met them all before...maybe in the preexistence or something. I bet we had a Málaga mission meeting up in the pre-life :)

Well super quick update of Almería. Celia got confirmed Sunday and is officially a member!!! I just love her to death. She told me before I left to get my hija that she wants to help me all that she can with lessons and help teach with me. I LOVE HER! She is freaking golden. She wants to go with us to like every lesson and then help us teach all of her family. Heavenly Father has blessed me SO MUCH with her. I don't know what I would do without her.

Welp, next week I will update you on my HIJA!!!!!! And how we are gonna be laughing every day for not understanding anyone and for not knowing how to speak spanish hehe so stoked.

LOVE YOU ALL!!!! I love Spain. I love missions. I am so excited for all my friends to get going on their missions and all of the girls in our ward!!! SO COOL!!!! Have a great week! Skype sesh in two weeks for Mother's Day! YESSSSS!!

Love love looooove,

Hermanas in the District

 Almeria Castle - PDay!

Celia'a Baptism Day:)!!

Celia was baptized! - April 22,2013

Celia was baptized!!! It was a miracle seeing her whole entire life change. My very first convert that I was able to see all of the changes. SO COOL! But the baptism itself was just train wreck. We are about to strangle the bishopric and all of the members. ughhhhh freaking losers ruined everything. We are just so grateful that celia is an angel and didnt care what was going on around her. She was the happiest little thing ever. She also bore her testimony after her baptism and it was the funniest and most powerful testimony. She is kinda a little crazy and says weird things haha and she can never remember the name of our church....she's all "and I know that the church of jesus christ of...the holy...last...last holy days is true! And I know that Apostle Monson is a true apostle and that I can be sealed to heavenly father and family forever." haha she is so dang cute. We were just crying with tears of the spirit and of laughter haha. LOVE HER! She seriously changed my mission and my perspective of this work.

BAPTISM!!! - April 22, 2013

HOLA HOLA HOLAAAAA!!

YAYYYYY CELIA WAS BAPTIZED!!! I love this woman to death. She is so freaking awesome and the very first member in her family...like her entire family! She is so excited to start sharing the Gospel with all of family and friends. This woman is about to bring soooo many people into the Gospel. Her story is a miracle. We started teaching her because a less active told us about her and we went straight over to her house to teach her. The very first day we saw her she was in such a mess. She smoked every two seconds and had a bad look on life and everything. Now, she is completely done smoking and is the happiest person in the world. Every time we had a lesson with her, she would just soak everything up and never would question anything. She accepted everything and read the book of mormon from day 1. She came to every single sacrament meeting with fail. Now she is such a strong member of the Church and I believe that she is they key to making this work boom.

I love how the Lord prepares His children. It was totally her time to hear the Gospel and is has changed her life forever and life of her family. Her family has seen her change and now they are curious to know more. We are now working with mom and we hope to get her baptized in the near future :) WHAT A MIRACLE!!

We are also working our dear 23yr old, Mauricio, from Ecuador. He is AMAZING! Love this kid. We always feel the Spirit when we teach him and he is such an awesome kid. We almost have a baptism date with him. He is also the key to bringing his family to the Gospel.

Well, Almería is seeing so many changes right now and it is all about to be turned over to me when my companion leaves next week. We just got a new ward mission leader and 19 new ward missionaries. We used to have like 4 ward missionaries.....crazzzzyyyyy! We also just split the area so we can work more efficiently and have more focus in our areas. We are stoked for the new changes and I am freaking out because I don't really want to be in charge of saving souls in Almería but I am so grateful the Lord is always on my side :) He is the reason that I keep pushing forward and that I have so much faith in making the work finally get moving here in Almería :)

I love you all so much! I hope Sean and Laura are doing great in Iowa!! Cammo is finishing Junior year!! AH! So much is happening! I miss you guys :) Thank you for your prayers and love. LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!

MILAGRO! - April 16, 2013

Holita FAMILIA!

I'm so sorry I did not write yesterday!! Our district wanted to change the Pday from monday to tuesday just for this week in order to hit up the Almería castle thingy that isn't open on mondays. It was kinda cool...haha not nearly as cool as the Alhambra but it'll do. I have been a really happy with the weather lately. Spain is FINALLY super warm and getting hotter and hotter super quickly. I am realizing that I need to buy more summer clothes to adjust to the oven temperatures that are coming fast.

This week was great!!!!! We FINALLY FINALLY FINALLLLYYYYYYY set a fecha for Celia!!! She is getting baptized this sunday the 21st so that her family can attend. WE ARE STOKED! Holy crap it has been such a roller coaster with getting date set. We are super excited yet a little on the nervous side because we dont want it to fall through. Hopefully I'll have some baptism pictures for you guys this next monday!

Also we had a little MILAGRO FINALLY! Ok, I shouldn't say "finally" because we see miracles every day...but we finally found some more people to teach!! Yesterday during our non-pday we had just gotten out of an appt and were feeling pretty pumped and excited for whatever we were about to do next...not sure why haha and so Hna Martín was like, "hey, lets go visit Lina and Marcos that we havent tried to contact yet." We were both like super stoked to go visit these people that we have never met or even knew where they lived but we just felt super good. We met with them and it turns out that they are related to a member in our ward and we are super good friends with them! We were like, "heck.yes." Lina and Marcos have had missionaries in the past for a while but didn't want to be baptized and just didn't really fall well with the Elders. We just felt so good in the lesson with them and they have two golden children that like turned off the TV and everything and sat ever so quietly and listened very intently to every word we said. SO ADORABLE!!! The little girl said that she prays every single night...oh my gosh...kill me know you are so cute!!! Hna Martín and I left the appt just so happy because we have been praying for a new family and BOOM...PRAYERS ANSWERED! yes yes yes yes yessssssss

Family...I miss you. I can't believe Sean and Laura are moving!!! Ahhhhhhhh! Im gonna be so depressed to come back to Provo without you guys there! I hope all is well with all of you. Thank you for the prayers and the love every day. I pray for all of you every day as well. I love this Gospel and I love being a servant of the Lord in Spain. Greatest decision ever. LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

April 8, 2013 - Conference Week!!!

Wassssuuuppp Familyyyy!!

I.Love.Conference. AH! I hope you are all floating on cloud 9 after that epic conference. I technically haven't seen all of it yet because of the crazy time difference, so don't spoil it ;) One of my favorites that I have seen so far was Uchtdorf. I love that man! He talked about how we can be closer to the Lord and pour out all of our worries to Him through prayer. He knows our weaknesses and He knows how to help. All we have to do is humble ourselves and let Him know of our worries and ask for His guidance. It is SO SIMPLE and so powerful!! I love prayer so much. It's my favorite thing to do :) ....well sometimes. When I have to pray in Spanish I get a little frustrated and don't feel like I'm actually saying anything that makes sense, BUT, He still listens and He knows the intentions of our hearts :) So, pray about every little thing in your life!

I also loved conference so much because it really helped my comp and I know that we have so much improvement to make and we need to repent and work harder. Nothing much happened this week because we didn't work hard enough. We are totally amped now though!! However, we are teaching 4 AFRICANS! haha they are crazy. Mostly all from Nigeria. I loved how conference talked a lot about Africans and here we are ready to get these guys baptized! :D They are Mike, John, Austin, and Ibu. Only one of them speaks somewhat sufficient spanish and the rest...English mixed with beeboo african language...haha Luckily we have an African in our ward that is the most engergetic person in the world that is helping us teach them. Two of them came to conference for like 8 minutes and left...due to a phone call, but I'm sure they were just like, what is this? They came at the WORST time haha I don't mean to be rude, but it was during the yellow lady's talk. I have no idea what the heck she was talking about and Mike&Austin were like, "umm, we have to go..." haha GREAT! Thank you yellow lady. I'm glad they came to hear that there was a child missing in a store but they found him by whipsering his name. Ah, I'm going to be punished for saying that but I was so devastated to see them leave before they were able to hear the prophet speak. We'll see what happens with our 4 Africans and my English teaching skills haha.

We also went to a wedding at the capilla and it was good and super weird. In Spain you have to be married legally before going to the temple. I am SO HAPPY that I don't ever have to have a wedding like it is in the movies. I love the temple :) Best place in the world, literally. Anyways, we tried to talk to all of the non members but they all fled from us and we ended up get NOTHING from it. So sad. Our only progressing investigator, Celia, should be baptized....soon...some day. We'll see.

I LOVE YOU FAMILY! Thank you for all of your prayers and love. I'm glad you were all able to watch conference :) Have a great week and share the Gospel with your friends!!! This Church is true and I love being a missionary during this amazing time.

Hermana Daly

Happy Easter!! - April 1, 2013

Hola Family!!!

It sounds like everyone had a super awesome Easter!!! La Semana Santa this week wasn't what I expected it to be. I guess since Almería is a smaller city they don't have as many prosessions as other cities like Málaga. I only saw one and it was freaking scary. Why do people think it's spiritual? No idea. They had the KKK type costumes with masks and then their huge float with Christ being persecuted by the Jews and then they had huge drums and they marched to the beat. Just a little bit creepy.

Anyways, well my Easter was quite memorable. Oh goodness. I ate my first fish in Spain!!! Worst experience ever! I will never like fish. Ever. It's just not going to happen haha. We had our big lunch meal thing with our investigators that we are about to drop...haha the Ecuadorian Family. They wanted to serve us their special food that they make during the Semana Santa in Ecuador. It started off with a chunky orange soup with mystery things inside and some type of fish that I did not like. Then for the main course they made me eat a huge nasty cold sardine fish with they eye ball n all on top of mashed potatoes and a nasty red sauce. I waned to die. I was just making faces at my comp of "please eat my fish for me...or...let's get out of here asap." She just laughed all during the meal. Soooo much fun. But the dessert was rice pudding, SO GOOD! That made up for everything haha I was so grateful for it.

Also this week I had my first lesson in English!! We met a guy from Nigeria and he didn't speak any Spanish so I jumped in and we made an apointment with him. I was super scared for this lesson because I would have to teach the majority of it. Hna Martín did teach some and she spoke super well!! She needs to speak more English ;) It was a super shaky lesson and I was just not good haha I was speaking super weird English and just had no idea how to teach not speaking in Spanish. Ugh, it was rough haha and on top of that, I could barely understand his thick Nigerian accent. It was super interesting but he accepted to read the BOM. So that's good!! We'll see what happens with this interesting situtation....

Other than that....still trying to find investigators. We had a conference in Málaga for two days and it was SO FUN! LOVE THOSE CONFERENCES! The missionaries in this mission are the greatest. I LOVE OUR MISSION! Everyone is just so hilarious and spiritual and awesome and this mission is going to kick butt this year in baptisms. It's only going to get more awesome with all of the new Hermanas. YEAHHHHH! Spain is going to be translated soon because we'll have the greatest missionaries ever :)

ENJOY CONFERENCE THIS WEEK! I'll be watching it in spanish...soooo tell me what the Apostles and Prophet actually say cuz there is no way I will understand. haha I'll just have to read it in the Ensign. Enjoy that you get to watch it in English from the comfort of your homes. It's such a blessing. Watch every single second of it!!! I'll be following up with all of you... ;) Have a great week! Love you ALLLLLL!!! This Gospel is the greatest thing in the world. We are so incredibly blessed. Help share your blessings with others :)

love,
