So sick:(!!!!!!!!!! - June 25, 2013

Hey Fam!!

Sorry this is a little late. I had the worst flu of my entire life all day yesterday. I lost about 10 lbs though!!! So that's exciting haha. It's a little hard to get back into the work. I always have to rest every 5 seconds on a bench in between walking. Hopefully I'll recover fast! It was sad blowing an entire pday though! Hna Grant and I were just DYING for pday and we were planning on totally owning the Elders in ping pong but then death overcame me. But, we did get to watch 17 miracles :) And the Elders gave us some water and food supplies cuz we had ZERO food and zero water and they gave me a blessing. So nice. We still have a little bit of family while on the mission :)

Welllll, as for this week. ummmmm nothing much has happened. We did have a miracle of getting a less active to church!!!! She is a recent convert and less active who hasnt been since like she's be baptized. Super sad. BUT, SHE CAME!!!! She kept saying that she was so embarrassed to go and everything so we were like, "alrighty, we are walking with you to church whether you like it or not." And she gladly accepted. It was so awesome!!!! We hope that she continues coming with us and that she ends up getting "rescued!"

We found a new investigator...well almost investigator that is related to like everyone in our ward. The Sánchez family, it's like everyone being related to the Walkers haha. So we have the Sánchez's and everyone is related to each other. So, we knocked this lady's door and she was so nice and accepting and was like, "yeah, I'm related to all of them!" She's SO SWEET! We'll see how our first lesson goes with her this week!

We got a conference in Málaga on friday. SO STOKED! Love those conferences. Thats about it! Still just struggling to find people and testifying to the world! I love this work! It is so much fun every day even though we seriously have nothing. We still find the joys of super mean people on the street and also others who are really nice to us :)

Miss you guys so much!!!! I cant believe the 4th of July is coming up already!! Thats like my favorite holiday!!!!! Im sad I'm missing it! We kinda had a 4th of july here in almeria, actually! It was called el dia de San Juan. They did fireworks at midnight on the beach. How sick is that!!! so fun. Sadly, we couldnt go. But, we definitely heard every second of it haha

Well have a great week everyone! Thank you for always writing me and supporting me. I feel so loved each and every week :) Love you all!!!

Holy HOTNESS!!! - June 17, 2013

HOLA!!

Ok, it is SO HOT! It's like in the 95-100 degrees range and so humid. We are sweating up a storm! The Mediterranean sea has never looked soooo gooooood. I may just hop in one day... ;)

Lots of changes here in Almería!! We have our new DL that is just rocking it and owning it up already....granted he was AP for 6 months and this is his last transfer...so I guess he's allowed to tear it up lol. We are so happy to have four elders instead of just two. We FINALLY get to do stuff together for pdays!! YAYYYY! Greatest news of my life! Today we are gonna go hit up a Pizzaria that a member owns that's in a pueblo an hour from here. We are gonna get fed sooo good and it's all free. Yes!!

This week...nothing too interesting goin on. We have like 2 investigators and are about to drop one of them. So it looks like we are always back to square one. But, that's ok!! Our spirits are high and we have the members getting whipped into shape ;) finally.

Crazy story of the week:
Remeber that one time I told the story of how Hna Martín and I went into that really really really gross piso with rats and cockroaches everywhere and we taught this really scary old lady and it was like 9:30 at night and we wanted to die?? Well, we just spent TWO HOURS cleaning that place. OH MY GOSH! This place will haunt my dreams forever. The Elders are apparently teaching one of the guys that lives there and who is now always flirting with me and wanting to serenade me with his guitar....oh gosh. So yeah, all 6 of us cleaned a cockroach infested place with rats running left and right and oh my heck, get this: the guy that the elders are teaching would grab the rats and then throw them as hard as he can at the ground to kill them...........are you kidding me?? Everytime he did it, which was like 5 times, I would let out a little yelp and then run away wanting to barf. The elders were just dying of laughter at this entire scene. Even our DL who is about to leave, Elder Valenzuela was like, I have never ever seen anything like that my entire mission. Sooooo, yeah, grossest place of spain right here in Almería!!!

That was a good, fun time!! Anyways, we are just having so much fun here!! I hope you all enjoy the pics of Granada and everything!! It was such a blast.

The Gospel is still true and I am loving every second of my mission. It is the hardest thing I have ever done, but so incredible. I have grown such a love for some of the members here that have taught me so much. I know that I would be super sad to leave this area even though I'll be here for a total of 6 months but it is incredible. I have learned so much! And I am so grateful for my hilarious and hard working compy, hna Grant. We are gonna see some miracles this transfer :) LOVE YOU ALL!!!! miss you guys so much

Staying in Almeria:) - June 10, 2013

Hey fam!

Sorry I have like 10 minutes to write on this computer that doesnt type like any punctuation stuff and the space bar is the worst.

So I am staying here in Almeria ONE MORE transfer with Hna grant. Im kinda....eh...so done with Almeria but its whatevs. 6 months and then Im finally outa here. We are getting a total of 3 more Elders. My fav district leader everrrr is leaving for another place and Im suuuuper sad. We are getting one of the APs to come down here and show us how its done I guess....lame but we are excited...ish.

Just got done hitting up parts of the Alhambra in Granada one last time before a bunch of people leave our zone. Hence why I have no time to write. AND I have such sick pics to send you guys! you should be excited.

We had a cool street contact miracle...but I guess thatll have to wait. Love you all!!

Riding on the bus:)

Beach season!...June 3, 2013

HOLA!

We finally have a fecha!! HOLY HECK! It's been sooo long since we've had a fecha in Almería and it feels sooooo good! But, we'll see what happens with this fecha. It's for Jacqueline and she is SO AWESOME! 17yrs old and has such a huge heart. I freaking love this girl. She's from....Ecuador??? Daaang it, I'm not exactly sure, haha. But, Hna Grant and I LOVE HER! Story of Jacqueline: She's an antigua (old investigator). She used be taught by some elders like two years ago and they were mostly teaching her older brothers and then ended up dropping all of them. Hna Martín and I from last transfer decided to check out this family and we found Jacqueline! She disappeared on us for a few weeks and then Hna Grant and I found her again like two weeks ago and now we are like BFFs and she's SO PREPARED! Dang, she's so prepared. I love prepared people! She's awesome and we just know that she'll be the one that brings the rest of her family to baptism. Her family is a little scared of us at the moment, but poco a poco, we'll get 'em ;) Her date right now is for June 29th...a little far away, but we'll see how it goes :) We have great faith in this girl!!

Other exciting news....We're moving out of our ghetto piso!!!! FINALLY!!!! I think that Lord just knew we were dying and he knew that the missionaries in the office where being super stubborn and heard hearted about changing out piso. So, the Lord somehow made something go wrong with the contract of this piso and now we have to be out within 4 weeks :) I love little miracles! We are so dang happy because we have had the worst fridge in the world. Actually, it's pretty talented. This fridge's name is Herby...thanks to me. It was inpsired, it totally fits him. Herby has an alarm that goes off about every two minutes, he also freezes our food OR he can cook it super well. It all depends on his mood. He's quite the magical little guy. We just never know what kind of milk we're gonna get in the morning! Ice cream milk, normal milk, or hot milk. It makes eating cereal super fun.

Nothing else new to report on the week...it's becoming beach season. Everyone and their rat dog are hittin the beach and im SO JEALOUS! Everyone plays volleyball or they do that super cool parachute surfing. I am so doing that next year!

I hope you are all having a great start to your summer! I love your emails every week. It is definitely the highlight of my week :) I have the greatest family and friends ever! LOVE YOU guys!! Sorry I suck I taking pictures. It's hard when you live in a desert and you cant do anything but shop on pdays....I just have two lame-o pics from a couple weeks ago. Sorry, I'll be better!!
