Malaga Mission is the best!! - August 27, 2013

Heyyy Family!!

OH yes. The Málaga mission is kicking trash. We did our epic week of finding 555 new investigators in one week AND we found............558!!!!!!!! YEAH MANNN!!! We were all praying like crazy and working our little tushes off and we did it!!! It was such a cool week and Hna Hendricks and I saw some awesome milagritos!!!

First milagrito: We prayed and fasted for a list of potential investigators and one of the was Carlos, our cute 18yr old from Bolivia. This kid is a stud and always comes to soccer on fridays with our huge group of chicos that come. We have always wanted to teach him but it's been hard to talk to him about the góspel because he is always with his friends. So, we prayed and fasted that one day he would be put in our path so that we could talk to him and have a quick lesson. SO, one day we were walking and BAM, Carlos is riding his bike towards us. I was flipping out with such excitement because I knew this was an immediate answer to our fast and prayers. He stopped and said hi to us and we eventually started talking about the church and we were able to sit down at a bench and have a little lesson and give him a Book of Mormon!!!!!!!!! He is the cutest thing in the world. He was like so nervous and cute during our lesson, yet really interested in what we were saying. It was so great.

We ended up having a second lesson in the capilla and during the first vision part, we asked him how he felt and he said with such a happy expression, "I feel really calm and good." We were like, YAYYYY that's the Spìrit, man!!!! Oh my heck, it was so awesome. He is the greatest. I love that kid.

We also had some other cool miracles with a lady stopping us in the street and wanting some folletos about the family and some DVDs about our church. We are gonna follow up with her this week!

We are so happy with all of the success that we've seen. It's been an incredible week. We still have our baptism coming up on the 14 for our cutie, jose manuel and then we are working on a few other younger kids for baptism dates!!! YAY!

Lots of good things going on and I have just learned so much about faith and how vital it is to success. It's kinda of sad that I am finally understanding how to apply the importance of faith so late into my mission. Well better late than never ;)

I love this Gospel and my mission. I love seeing miracles every day. Love and miss you guys so much. Have a great week!

WE HAVE A FECHA!! - August 19, 2013

Hola!!

Heyyyyy e'ryone! So I wonder if it's as blistering hot there as it is here. We are always up in the 105s every single day with hot wind. I just want to die. It doesnt help that we have lots of gigantic fountains surrounding us. One day I will just dive in. BUT, we are seeing some little miracles here and there.

WE HAVE A FECHA! freeeaaaking finally!! He is a cute Little 13yr old and his fam is the less active family that came to church that one time after 10 yrs!!! SO COOL! The family is still a little hesitant about coming but the boy is so Golden. He has been wanting to be baptized for like 3 yrs. LOVE HIM! He gets baptized Sept 14th.

We also had a cool miracle while waiting for the bus to go to Rota, which is 30mins away. SUPER PRETTY btw. We are totally partying it up over there in 6 months, family ;) anyways, so we missed our bus that goes to Rota and the next one wasnt coming for like 2 hrs but we cant leave the stop because they just come at random times. So we said a prayer if we should stay and we decided to stay and bake and die. AND THEN!!! Our Ward misión leader and his wifey just drove by and were like, "hey, you goin to Rota? hop in!" So we drove with them in nice leather seats with blasting AC listening to some EFY jams. Greatest miracle ever. They went on to say that it was definitely inspired for them to drive by at that moment because they werent planning on heading back that early. How cool is that? I know that nobody got baptized from that miracle, but hey, it's the best miracle we get these days lol.

So, cool stuff goin on in the malaga misión!! We all fasted and prayed this week to find 555 new investigators this week!!! Thats about 7 new investigators per companionship. We have been trying to work on some potentials and have been praying and fasting for them this past week. So we are totes ready to do this! We are way excited. Hopefully we get some cool results because the Lord really is preparing these hard hearted people! I know we can find them!

Love you guys so much.

Hardest Birthday Week Ever!!! - August 12, 2013

Hey fam!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the greatest letters and packages EVER! They all came RIGHT on my bday. I was so happy :) I was laughing lots at Sean and Laura's pics that they sent with the Iowa horse seats hahaha. They give me a good laugh every night after a hard day of work :) thanks guys. Hope lil William is doing great!

Well it was a hard week with lots of failed citas and walking and getting mocked by everyone in streets. People are nice here but at the same time, super rude. We don't even say anything to them and they still say rude things. It's really annoying but then Hna Hendricks and I just start laughing super loud and then they stop being dumb cuz they think we are making fun of them. SO HAH! Joke's on you buddies.

Not sure what to share from this week. We ate at Baskin Robbins!!! SOOOO GOOD! We also ate at a delish Italian restaurant FOR FREE because we ate with the President of the English branch. SO FUN! So the week wasn't too bad then ;)

No progressing investigators at the momento.

Favorite scripture ever, D&C 58: 3-4 helps me with annnnything! try it out. you'll feel warm and fuzzy inside

Our Ward mission leader is TOTALLY the spaniard versión of Uncle Bob hahaha he is all spiffy and fly and plays golf allllll the time. He's super funny ;)

Hna Hendricks and I are ready to set like a million fechas and find a billion new investigators. So get ready! We'll work hard so that we have cool miracles to tell next week :D LOVE YOU GUYS! greatest family ever.

It's My Birthday Week!!! - August 5, 2013

HOLITA!!
Thanks for the all bday wishes!!!
THIS WEEK WAS GREAT! We saw lots of miracles and are praying praying prayyyyyying for a baptism this transfer!! We had a miracle of seeing a 10yr less active family come to church yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO COOL! We had a noche de hogar with them and then 1 other lesson after that and they kept saying that they would never ever return to church because they were offended by someone....lame excuse....but that they still had their testimonies. But, with the help of some members that went by and visited them, they came to church!!!!!!!!!!! The whole branch was FREAKING OUT with so much excitement and they all bore their testimonies and were like bearing their whole souls to this family. Not gonna lie, it was kinda awkward haha but hey they stayed the whole three hours!! YEAH! The president of the branch came up to us after and thanked us for bringing them back, but honestly, it was ALL thanks to the members. We just broke the ice and then they came right in. It was great team work :) Great miracle
ALSO! We had two investigators that are from America come to church!!!!! They are so incredible and we really really reeeeaaally hope hey get baptized this transfer! They are so golden and the cutest couple ever.
We also saw two other families that have been super hard to contact but they were FINALLY home! So we hope to pick back up with them and see progress with them :)
Our other investigator, Ariel, he is 18, from Bolivia and just the cutest little thing. He is SO prepared but sometimes is a silly teenager who is lazy and won't come to church...he just needs to come and he'll be ready :D There are just so many awesome young chicos here in Puerto that are so spiritual and so ready to find the truth. We hope to gain more investigators from this pot of chios that come to play fútbol every friday. I totally gave an awesome  spiritual message on the Atonement after fútbol last time and did the cool seminary example when someone has to do 10 push ups for every snickers that someone wanted (or didnt want) and it was way spiritual and they all were loving it :) It was awesome!
SO MANY MIRACLES! It was a great week and we are working our butts off because we love these people so very much. I have also decided that Mormon is my favorite book in the Book of Mormon :) so if you want a good read, hit that section! SO AMAZING!!!

Love this church so much and I love seeing the Lord's hand in every little thing. He is quite the busy man. I am always in shock from seeing so many miracles happen. This work is incredible. I love it! Love you guys so much.
Lil Will is the cutest thing in the entire world and I am DYING to meet him. Love you Laura and Sean!!!!!!! Miss all of you so much.
