New Companion arrives - now in a Trio!! - Sept 2013

me with Hermana Hoffman & Hendricks:)

TRIO TIME!! - Sept. 23, 2013

Hola people!

We are finally a trio! Hna Hoffman flew in from SLC this last wednesday and Hna Hendricks and I got to have a party trip to Malaga to get her. It was super fun! We got to hang out at the mission home all by ourselves with President Deere and his wife. It was a grand ol' time. There is a picture on the Spain Mission Blog if you want to see the trio picture with the map. I look disgusting but whatevs :)

This week was a crazy weird week due to the random two day trip to Malaga. We lost a lot of working time and didnt have many cool things happen this week. Funny story though!! We found a sad little newborn kitten under a car just meowing like crazy last night. It was SO CUTE! We just had to find it a home. So for the last half hour of the night (which is the worst half hour of the day) we went around talking to anyone that was on the street if they wanted to keep cute newborn kitty lol. We are such suckers. It's so sad because there are like millions of cats eeeeeverywhere and they are gross but this cute little baby could not be left alone. So at the end of the night, we ended up talking to like 10 people and had the funniest time talking to these people and trying to get them to take the little guy. In the end, nobody wanted it :( So we bought cat food and put it in a nice grassy gated área. We hope it lives!! We are such little losers haha but it was a fun night and it totally helped missionary work! We just need to tell president to give everyone a baby cat and then people will want to talk to you. Seriously, EVERYONE wanted to talk to us and pet the cat.....but then wouldnt take the darn thing. Losers.

Other than that we had a sweet Stake Conference in Cádiz. Love that place. It's so pretty! It was fun seeing all of the missionaries in our stake, which is like 30 or something. It was a cool conference and two less actives came!!! YAY! Happy day.

We are kind of hitting a wall right now with the work. This always happens after a baptism! Everything just starts to crumble. We are trying to pick ourselves back up and find more investigators since our other ones ran away :(

The coolest thing I learned this week is that FAITH and OPTIMISM equals awesomeness and success :) We are going to learn those principles mighty fast and find some lost little sheepies :) YEAH! A TRABAJAR!

Love you guys!

BAPTISMMMMM!!!
We had the greatest baptism of all time. Nobody's convert is as cool as ours. Jose Manuel is the coolest 13yr old ever. Despite the fact that we had the worst week of preparing for this baptism and that so many people bailed on us last minute for the baptism, we still had an epic turn out and so much spirit was felt!!
Lets just say that everyone and their dog decided to be busy the day of the baptism and bail on talks and doing our programs. So, last minute we threw a lame program together and got an awesome guy to give a talk. AND, thanks to our lovely American member, she played the most beautiful rendition of "If You Could Hie to Kolob" on the piano. It was GORGEOUS! Everyone was crying and there were SO many people that came from Jose Manuel's family that weren't members and lots of investigators came as well. It was amazing :) My favorite part was seeing Jose Manuel smiling ear to ear the entire time. It was also very special seeing his whole family there even though they are all less actives and are having a hard time coming back. They were so supportive of him and it was just incredible!!!
Other cool news, we are a few new investigators that we have been working very hard to teach. They are friends and family members of less actives and these less actives have finally given us their trust and love! YAY! I love miracles :)
Our new hija comes tomorrow....maybe. We hope! We are super excited! Lots of work is just booming in Puerto. It's cool to see how right when I came there wasn't much happening. But, now after lots of hard work we are seeing miracles right and left. Let's make this branch a Ward! We just have to baptize like 5 more Priests and they can be a Ward :)
Love you fam! Hope things are well with everyone. Happy almost Fall!!

Our cutie patootie - Jose Manual is getting baptized!!!!! - Sept 9, 2013

Hey there fam fam!
Sounds like everybody is getting back into the normal work/school routine. That makes us super happy over here as well because people are done going on vacations and now we can teach people! YAY! Lets see some baptisms....
Well this week was a little weird because lots of our cool investigators bailed on us but then we had some cool milagros! We have been trying to meet this one lady that we contacted foreeeever ago and she was FINALLY home. We were so about to give up on her but we both felt that she could have some potential. So we tried one more time and she was home and we had an awesome lesson! She is from Bolivia....like everyone else....and in the beginning he was like, "ummm Im super Catholic and I will never ever go to your Church, but sure I'll listen." I immediately thought, yeah she'll be baptized one day haha she is just too cool! We shared a little bit about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon and we could totally feel the Spirit. It was so cool to see in her face that she was feeling it too even though she said she didn't want to change. AH, it was awesome. She may totally fail on us next week but whatevs, she'll be baptized one day :)
We have our cutie patootie Jose Manual getting baptized!!! What a stuuuud. He's the greatest. And our awesome misión leader that looks like Uncle Bob will be baptizing him so I'm sure I'll get a picture with him this saturday :D We are so stoked.
We have had such cool miracles with some less active people and we are hoping to begin teaching these less actives' kids and get em baptized. Yayeahhhh. I love puerto, it's super fun :)
OH and our third compy got her visa!! But she wont be coming for like 2wks cuz President said so lol. Her name is Hna Hoffman and we are so excited for her! Except I have to share my bathroom....laaaaaaaaame. I like having my own bathroom.
I love this Church. It's so true. I have been doing epic studies about the Atonement and I just love it. Ah, I love it :) Go check out this  amazing rock climbing mormon message... "a secure anchor" It's my fav. LOVE YOU GUYS!

Crazy random missionary week!! - September 2, 2013

Buenas!!

This has been the craziest mission week of my life!! It all started with our water breaking in our piso....we had no running water for FOUR DAYS! It just randomly decided to shut off due to the mission office not receiving the bills. Hna Hendricks and I had to be creative with taking showers and brushing our teeth. We ended up buying huge gallons of water and pouring them into pots. It reminded me of the lovely times in the very beginning of my mission when I had to shower with hot pots of water in the dead of Winter. What great memories ;) We also had some crazy events happen and we ended up beeing a trio for 2 1/2 days in Jeréz and in Puerto while another sister had a meeting in Malaga. That was a lot of fun traveling like maniacs to teach citas in both places. So due to all of the fun that happened, we have no money for having spent it all on gallons of water and lots of train tickets :) It was quite the week...

TRANSFERS HAPPENED! Nothing much is changing. Hna Hendricks and I knew we wouldnt be switched because President loves us together apparently lol. But, then we had a missed call from him. We were both like, "no no no noooooo, dont switch us!!!" Luckily, he said we were staying but he wanted to let us know that we will be a trio. However, the new girl that is coming is still visa waiting in the SLC east mission. So, we think she will be arriving in like two weeks or something. We are both kinda excited and kinda not. Trios arent super fun sometimes. We'll see how it goes. This means that I get to train this new girl and hna hendricks gets to help me since she just finished her training. Yeah for training....Im sick of it haha but there are just too many missionaries that keep coming. We received 38 missionaries this transfer....That's A LOT! I think thats the biggest wave since our very first wave after the age change. Super crazy.

Well, not many super cool spiritual things happened. We had our testimony meeting at church and it was pretty silent. Not many got up out of the 50 people that come every sunday. OH! something cool did happen! Our cutie investigator, Carlos, said that he wants to get baptized!! YAY! We don't totally have a fecha yet, but we'll get working on that. He is SO CUTE! We're praying our hearts for this cute 18yr old Bolivian :)

Our other cutie, Jose Manual gets baptized still on the 14th! He is so freaking excited. Every sunday he counts down how many days there are left. LOVE HIM!

It was so great to see the cute pictures from baby William's blessing!!! He is SO CUTE! I had only a little tantrum as I read about all the fun you had together ;) I am super sad I couldnt be there but lets be real....we all know he truly loves me the most. I bet he was sad for not having met me yet ;) Love you guys lots. Keep sharing the Gospel with every single human being in your path :) LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!
