Man, you poor little freezing people!! It is practically summer here in the beautiful wintery Arizona and I am LOVIN it! This week has been...average-ish. I am getting pretty dang good at drawing elephants and dogs for the 4 psychotic kids we have to babysit during ALL THREE HOURS of Church. Shoot me in the face. These kids need to go. They are Jaunita's grandkids (the one we just baptized) and she usually has them on Sundays and they REFUSE to go to Primary. So now it is our job to sit and draw pictures with them and beg them to stop screaming during all three hours. They are slowly getting better but it makes me so sad that I can never listen to what is being taught during the whole three hours. I just draw pictures while the kids climb all over me. Suuuuper fun. Didn't know that this would be a sister missionary's job. But that's ok! I am only upset like 50% of the time during Church haha. Our baptismal date investigator, Jorge, never came to Church. Ugghhhhh. He was "sick." Man, it's a constant battle getting him to Church. Lots of work to do with him.
We had a pretty cool experience with a new investigator, Dunia. We had a first lesson with her and we were teaching her how to pray towards the end of the lesson and while we were teaching her, I just kept thinking about how sad it is that there are SO MANY people that have never really talked to their Heavenly Father before. It's so sad! So, we were teaching her how to do it and invited her to pray and like always the people get really nervous and don't want to pray. But, we kept assuring her that it's super easy and that Heavenly Father wants to hear from her, yata yata yata and then she finally decided to pray and she just starting BAWLING. We were all kneeling down and she was just crying and crying and was trying to pray for her kids and her family. It was the sweetest prayer ever. After the prayer, she was super happy and just kept hugging us and was so happy and wanted us to come back immediately. It was AMAZING. For some reason we didn't invite her to be baptized....oops. We are so bad at asking that during the first lesson and we're supposed to do it. We have a lesson with her TODAY! I will update you next week about her :)
Our cool 18 yr old investigator, Javier, just moved to another part of Mesa so we have to get different missionaries to teach him. Dang it. He was super cool and hope he gets baptized soon. We got to do some service for a member in our ward and we wore JEANS! YES JEANS! Greatest feeling in the world. We cleaned out this disgusting room and now it's spotless :) we organized and cleaned this laundry room.
My legs are pretty beefy and muscular now. I could probably go hit up a biking marathon with Aunt Christine and Uncle Chris ;) All of our investigators are sloooooowly progressing. Aaaaand, yeah :) That's all I got for this week. Thank you for the super super awesome letters!! I love all of you so so so so much!!! Please dont die from the cold :) love you all!
love,
Hermanita Daly
